Gloria Quilt

This was a test quilt I did for a now dear friend, Abby of Abby Maed. She tested my first pattern and in turn asked me to test her first pattern. I felt so honored, and I have loved building the friendship they we have created. Abby does beautiful work and when she sent this pattern over, I just loved it. I have a thing for stars in quilts. She had included a scrappy fat quarter mix and match version and I tend to go scrappy. I am more of a traditional quilter, and they used to make quilts with what fabric they had left over from clothing or other quilts. I had some left-over fat quarters from Sharon Holland’s Spirited collection for Art Gallery Fabrics and some coordinating Robert Kaufmann Essex Linens and Gauze. I just had to pick out a background and some sashing. I used my handy Art Gallery Fabrics chips from Woven and Wooly and went bold with Honey - a vibrant golden yellow. This was the boldest I had ever gone with a background fabric! And boy did it work!!! I have had so many compliments on this quilt and many that have also said this quilt gives them the courage to go bold. This quilt is just happy! You look at it and it just brings a feeling of joy over anyone who sees it!!
