Nightingale Quilt

When I saw this quilt pattern, I just knew it was perfect for our bed! My husband and I are both nurse’s and Brittany of Lo & Behold Stitchery was also a nurse. She wrote this pattern in honor of Florence Nightingale, the “mother” of nursing. Any nurse has a love and respect for Florence Nightingale. This pattern, with the right fabrics, was also masculine enough, yet still gave me that traditional block-based quilt look that I prefer! I chose to use Wild Forgotten by Bonnie Christine for Art Gallery Fabrics for this quilt. My husband actually really liked the colors, again that moody, natural look! And I love the patterns!! It turned out perfectly. I did have to do some alterations to make it large enough for our king size bed. I added in some coordinating AGF Pure Solids to add some blocks to the quilt, and then put a border around it to give it the extra size it needed. It’s so funny, that one of the solids matches our wall color perfectly. This quilt was the perfect compliment to our room!
